Who should make reports
Victims of child sexual abuse by a person ministering on behalf of the Church
Persons with a suspicion that a child may be sexually abused by a person ministering on behalf of the Church
Persons concerned about violations about our Code of Conduct regarding appropriate behavior with children by any person ministering on behalf of the Church
Indiana law requires that any individual who has reson to believe that a child is a victim of abuse or neglect must report immediately to:
- the local Child Protection Services agency (Hotline: 800-800-5556)
a local law enforcement agency.
Under Indiana law, it is a criminal act to not make such a report. This law applies to all adults without exception.
How to Report Abuse
If you suspect a child has been abused by a priest, deacon, employee or volunteer of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, it is important that you contact the appropriate authorities immediately. Please take the following steps:
Call the Indiana Child Abuse Hotline (800-800-5556) or your local law enforcement agency.
Email the Indiana Child Abuse Hotline (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Contact the Victim Assistance Coordinator of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis at 800-382-9836, ext. 1548.
