Making disciples looks different for different individuals but over all there is a structure on how to form others in following Christ. Three key moments to that rhythm are the Kerygma, Didache, and Liturgia.
These steps are proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ, being formed on how to live in the shadow of the Master, and how to worship rightly and justly. Embark is an opportunity to pause and refocus on the mission we have been given.
Like any good mission it is an adventure filled with twists and turns, ups and downs; it is critical to gather, rest, be renewed before heading out again.
This morning together will do just that.
Embark is a virtual formation event. It is an opportunity for youth ministry teams to gather, reflect, and learn more about how to better engage in the three key moments of forming people as disciples of Christ (Kerygma, Didache, and Liturgia) in our youth ministry programs.
This day is designed for those who minister to middle school and high school students and their families. Whether that is in a paid or volunteer role, as priest or lay person, whether you gather monthly or weekly, this day is for you. A great way to utilize Embark is to grab your youth ministry team and have them join you for this event!
Training and forming both ourselves as youth ministry leaders and our volunteers is an important part of creating and maintaining successful youth ministry programs. The reality is if we want our youth ministry volunteers to go from volunteers to mentors who truly accompany youth in their faith, we need to form them. Embark is here to help you with just that! Sometimes, training our teams slips our mind, is hard to coordinate, or difficult to find good resources and speakers to help. With Embark, the planning for you is minimal and the virtual component makes it flexible and accessible for everyone to take part in. Plus, Embark brings great speakers directly to you in your living rooms or parish meeting spaces at a low and affordable cost!
We invite you to join us in helping form your youth ministry leaders in how to better engage in the three key moments of forming people as disciples of Christ (Kerygma, Didache, and Liturgia) in our youth ministry programs.

Focus: The importance of proclaiming and steeping youth in the Kerygma, the Good News of the Gospel, within our parishes and youth ministry programs. How do we proclaim the basic Gospel message to teens well? What does it look like to always keep the Kerygma at the center of our ministries? How do we continually remind teens of the Good News of Jesus Christ in all that we do with youth? These are questions we will explore in our time together at Embark.
